Urban Gardens

Urban Gardens

Dear Friends,

I just received a letter and pictures from Noeline, our administrator, and I had to share them with you.

First of all, she said that God has protected all of our children and families in the midst of this craziness and we are praising him for his faithfulness. Thank you so much for your prayers and please continue.

Secondly, she told me that she has been doing “urban farming” in the midst of quarantine. This is revolutionary!

These pictures of her garden in bags on top of our school building are simply incredible. (Another amazing way God is using our school!) We have long looked for ways to bring fresh vegetables to our families, but there is just no land nearby that is suitable. What Noeline has been able to do with our rooftop, some bags, soil, and seeds is so so exciting. As soon as the children return to school she is going to be teaching them how they too can become “urban farmers!”

I have tears in my eyes thinking about how this has potential to be such a help to our families!

As many of you are working in your own gardens, pray for our rooftop garden in Uganda, and that the vegetables that are grown there will help to sustain our brothers and sisters in these very challenging times.

I look at these pictures and I see hope!

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Have a great day, my friends, and be on the lookout for gardens of grace; gardens of hope in your own lives today. God is so good!

Much Love,
Jan
