V127 July Update

V127 July Update

Dear Friends,

I know these are challenging times for us all, & some of you are really struggling. Please reach out to us if you need help covering a payment for your child. We so appreciate all you do for our family in Uganda & we are here for you too.

Even in the midst of the struggle, God is doing amazing things in and through our Victory 1:27 family. Here are a few that I wanted to share with you:

Victory House

The walls on the second floor of Victory House are complete!

Our team is waiting for additional funds to continue the construction, but it’s looking so good!

Here are the drawings that outline the details of the second floor plan. (Courtesy of our very own Julie).

The boarding section is going to meet a huge need, as is the additional housing for our teachers.

Continue to pray for God’s provision for this important project. We are hoping our children will be back to school soon and we would love to have this facility ready and waiting. To contribute financially toward this need, please select the Construction Fund at Victory127.com/Give.

Urban Garden

Noeline’s urban garden, on the top of our school building, is thriving!

She is growing tomatoes, cabbage, spinach, eggplant, green peppers, (and other vegetables without English names 😊) and has already started harvesting and sharing the bounty.

Here are our Jonathan and Stephen helping with the harvest!

We were able to send some funds to expand this initiative to train our children and families on how to grow their own vegetables at home. (yet another use of our general fund!) We are praying that this will be a blessing and reap dividends for years to come.

Prayer and Ministry Updates

Thank you for praying for Grandma Imelda. She has shown some improvement and they have removed the feeding tube. Praise God!

We are excited to welcome the Forest Hill Methodist Church in Forest Hill, WV, the Wayside Charge of the Methodist Church in WV, and Glade Community Church in Daniels, WV to our V127 family. They are now partnering with us in our mission & we are so grateful!

Thank you to those of you who have written letters to encourage your children. We’ve gotten a few letters back and they are so sweet. Here are a few excerpts:

I have asked the Lord for these 3 things: to bless you, to guide you, to always protect you. Yours faithfully,” Angel Mukisa

Fortunately enough, through your prayers we are able to overcome. Let the glory be to the Lord. I also pray daily that you will pass through this pandemic safely.” David Senabulya

I also encourage you to always be in God’s presence, because he is our provider, protector, fortress, and our shelter. He will cover you with his wings which will protect you from every attack of the enemy (Ps 91:1-6)
I love you so much.
 “ Catherine Nabuuma

These are just 3 of the 141 children in our V127 family. They are beautiful and talented and smart and God has a great plan for each of their lives. Because of you, they have been given the chance to succeed, but most importantly, they now have hope ❤️

Psalm 33 has been such an encouragement to me personally this week. I’m hoping these last few verses will encourage you too.

“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”

Psalms‬ ‭33:18-22‬ ‭

Much Love,
Jan
