New Children!

It is such an exciting day when we receive a new group of V127 children! Sponsorship always has been and always will be the heart and soul of this ministry. When a child finally reaches my inbox, it means they have gone through enormous heartbreak and faced many challenges in their young lives. They are in desperate situations; the neediest of the needy, and their only hope is someone stepping in with love and compassion to walk alongside them, providing for them, praying for them, and investing in their future.

All of their stories are so sad, and this group of ten is no exception. For Moses Tusubira, his father left when his mother discovered the pregnancy. Then his mother left after she gave birth, and Moses is now in the care of his 88 year old great-grandmother. She is struggling just to feed him, and has no hope of sending him to school.

Karen Suubi, who is fourteen, is the oldest of six children. Her father lost his job during Covid, and then just left the family under the stress of it all. Her mother has been trying to keep them together, but they are living in what Herbert calls “deplorable conditions” in an old abandoned house. Karen has been suffering from cerebral malaria and depression.

Ruth Kwarkikunda’s father decided he didn’t want to pay her school fees anymore, so he decide to marry her off. Her mother rescued her from that and sent her from the village to Kampala to be a house maid. She went to work for a pastor and his wife, and shared with them her longing to finish school and one day become a nurse. The pastor’s wife knew about V127, and asked Pastor Herbert if we could help her.

Kuraish lost his mother to HIV and his father is now sick with HIV. He is currently living with his aunt, who is having a tough time providing for him.

This is just a sampling of their heartbreaking stories, but the excitement comes because their lives are about to change forever. The stability that a sponsor brings into the life of a child, through prayer, words of encouragement, and education brings life-changing HOPE.
