December Update – Christmas & Scholarships

Christmas!

Thank you so much for your generous support of our Ugandan Christmas celebration. To say that God provided above and beyond through all of you and others, would be a vast understatement! Our goal was to raise $10,000, I was praying for $20,000, and God provided $26,857!  WOW! Truly amazing. We knew from the beginning that God would provide exactly what He needed for His purposes. The extra funds will enable our team to reach even more people with the gospel and bless more families this Christmas. In the words of Herbert the goal is to “utilize all avenues to reach out to all categories of people this Christmas season; the children, youth, community population, married couples, community leaders, and the elderly.” Many people will hear the gospel, many will be fed, and many lives will be changed because of your love and investment. Also, each and every child will be overjoyed to receive the photo and letter that you wrote to them. Thank you so much for all you have invested in this year’s Community Christmas Celebration!

This weekend was the beginning of the Children’s discipleship campaign. The first Friday had 183 new children that have never come to the church before! Please pray that these precious ones will hear the gospel, get a grasp of the true meaning of Christmas, and embrace Christ as their Lord and Savior. Pray for strength and stamina for our team as they have a very full month of outreach!

*Also, praise God that our funds have safely arrived in Uganda! Another answered prayer!

Victory House Phase 3

Construction is complete for our boys dormitory! Praise God! I will be sending the funds next week for the purchase of bunk beds for the third floor. You will remember that we launched a campaign last March to buy bunk beds for our girls dorm, and God went ahead and provided funds for the boys dorm too! So grateful! If all goes well, we should be able to move boys into the dorm by Jan 1st, with school scheduled to begin Jan 3rd! What an answer to prayer! Thank you to all of you who sacrificed to make this possible.

Scholarship Fund

I’m excited to tell you that we have 13 kids attending college or vocational school this fall. They were able to return to in-person learning Nov 1st, and they are all hard at work in their respective fields. Our scholarship fund provides the extra that’s needed beyond your sponsorship to enable these kids to continue their education. Please pray for these as they embark on this new venture!

We are praying for God to change hearts and lives this Christmas season, both here at home and in Uganda. There is so much darkness and hopelessness all around. We must be diligent to share the Good News of Jesus’ birth!

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:2‬ ‭

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭

Let us celebrate the Light of the World, who brings HOPE and JOY to us all this Christmas!

Much Love,
Jan
