New Children & a New Website!

New Children & a New Website!

Dear Friends,

I’m excited to tell you that just we received seven new children into our V127 family! Hallelujah! I rejoice as I see their sweet faces, for although their life has been so difficult, that is all about to change. God is going to provide a sponsor to invest, encourage, and provide for them and give them a chance to succeed! Just providing the stability of an education brings hope in a land of desolation.

Here are three new members of our family, and one current family member in need of a new sponsor:

Alan, Luke, and Ronald are all brothers. Their father died a few years ago, and their mom has been washing clothes for people in the community to try to provide for them. She Is unable to send them to school. In Uganda, a child can enroll in school, but then has two weeks to pay the school fees for that term. If the fees are unpaid, then the child is sent home. For most of our children, this is what they’ve known. Two weeks of school, and then back home with nothing to do. Many of our kids have written about the stability that sponsorship brings, and how it is incredible to get to go to school for an entire term.  Education is a great gift and they are so grateful for the opportunity.

Jennifer is 11 years old and has been sponsored through V127, but is in need of a new sponsor. She is one of 8 children and her mother is trying to support them by roasting maize in the evenings. There is no money for school fees. She is a sister to our Herbert Mukisa.

Please pray with me for sponsors for Luke, Ronald, Alan, and Jennifer- as well as Jovia, Gift, Andrew, and Geoffrey. We know that God will provide!

New Website

If you’d like to see our new children, you can find them on our new website, V127.org!

We have been working for months on a new logo, website, and brochure. We are very excited about how these tools are going to impact and further the ministry. Please take a few minutes and explore the website…there is so much great information there! It is also a tremendous tool for sharing the ministry with others. We are incredibly thankful for those who have been working so hard behind the scenes to bring all of this to life. (One feature that I think you will love, is a template for you to use to write and submit a letter for your child! You can find it here.)

I’m just starting a study on the book of Haggai, and God has been encouraging my heart with a message from the prophet…

“ ‘Be strong, all you people of the land’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,‘ declares the Lord Almighty”. Haggai 2:4b

1. Be strong
2. Work
3. I am with you

Whatever God has called us to do, he asks us to be strong and courageous, do the work that He has put before us, and always know that He is with us.

He has called us to be a part of his rescue plan for these forgotten children of Uganda, and we will be strong and work in the strength that comes from His presence! Praise God!

Much Love,
Jan
